In July 2010, The Star reported a whopping RM40 billion worth of assets and property left behind by deceased Muslim persons have been unclaimed!

These assets include EPF contributions, bank savings, vehicles, real estate and insurance benefits. According to Deputy Head in the Syariah advisory division of the Attorney General’s Chambers, Mahamad Naser Disa, he attributed this matter to the loose and inconsistent Syariah laws relating to inheritance of wakaf (religious or public endowment), ar-rahnu (mortgage) property and hibah (awards), coupled with the constraints of existing law – all of these have complicated the process of managing inherited properties.

It doesn’t have to happen if you have a Wasiat and Trust. Contact us at info@ubbibank.com or 03-6211 4199 for more information.
